Hi. Can you help?

I've just started to learn Revit Architecture 2008.

I want to draw a wooden frame workshop for practise.

I loaded a wooden column from the library and draw some wooden columns using 'structural columns'

I then tried to draw a wooden beam but no wooden beams where in the 'structural frame' family so I tried to load it from the library.

A warning window then popped up with the message that the family is already loaded. So can't draw any beams because I can't load the family.

How do I draw columns as well as beams that are made from wood?

Thanks for your help
Tom

Interesting. If the wooden 'beam' is loaded it should be listed in the project navigator under 'structural framing'.
If no beams are loaded there will be no listing. If there is a beam listed there you can simply drag in one of them ('timber' beams for example) into your editing window it should start the beam command.

You can also use the 'beam' tool from the structural desgin bar. You current view and cut plane will govern if you can actuall 'see' the beam after you place it.

Hope this helps. There are lots of free tutorial videos at www.CADcips.com

A message to the Google humans and the Google Robots > Unlock my blog !

I have started to post Videos on You Tube. Search for 'CADclip'.

Every Monday I send the same stupid reply message to Google after they send me the same stupid automated apology on behalf of the Google Robots for locking down my blog. It's been 9 weeks since REVIT ROCKS has been locked down wothout warning.

I will get back into blogging as I own www.revitrocks.com anyway but with a different 'non-free' provider that is FOR SURE.

In the mean time if anyone is reading this I have started to post Videos on You Tube. Search for 'CADclip'.

Google Blogger sucks !
